About us

In the absence of true, actionable public information during an emergency, rumor and misinformation will fill the void.

That's why public information officers are a critical asset before, during and after a disaster. Whether it's an epidemic, hurricane, tornado, earthquake or any one of a hundred other different emergencies, getting the right information to the right people at the right time can often mean the difference between life and death.

That's why this blog is all about. As a public relations specialist in Hillsborough County, Florida, I will be posting about the experiences and knowledge I have been gathering since I started this career back in 1998, and I will be looking to my colleagues from around the country who do this type of work on a daily basis to build a knowledge base for those who will be coming into the field after we retire.
